1903 Cadillac Model A Runabout
The Model A was the first vehicle offered by the Cadillac Automobile Company, which was founded in 1902 by Henry Leland from the assets of the defunct Detroit Automobile Company. Introduced at the 1903 National Automobile Show at Madison Square Garden, the first Cadillac model was powered by a single-cylinder engine that was water cooled by means of a primitive radiator. Like many early Cadillacs, the Model A was typically delivered with two-place coachwork. A rear tonneau that increased its passenger capacity to four could be ordered for an additional $100.
